WHAT WILL I STUDY?
- Biomechanics including levers, planes, axis, joint action analysis, spatial movement, length tension relationship and advanced anatomy & physiology
- Analysis and communication of exercises by spatial, joint action, joint stabilisation & position, micro control, neural control, proprioception, motor control
- Full exercise movement screening and analysis based on physiological, technical and fitness demands
- Building a movement screening programme using the pilates method and exercises
- Forensic analysis of the classical mat 34 to communicate and verbalise the method using precision markers, breath, micro control and control of compensatory movements
- Teaching and communicating the exercises using the forensic analysis method to be able to sequence the variations and adaptations of the classical mat method and exercises.
- To be able to adapt and progress the classical mat exercises to meet the physiological and technical demands of the components of fitness and build programmes using the components of fitness
- To adapt and progress the classical mat method into standing method and analyse the physical and technical demands
- The use of small equipment to focus or challenge your clients including freeFORM, beamfit, pilates circles, therabands and balls and more
- To choose one additional module from pre and post natal or exercise therapy
HOW LONG DOES THE COURSE LAST?
- Online study modules including level 4 anatomy, physiology and biomechanics
- Live streaming level 4 advanced Pilates adaptation & progression – 2 days
- Online/live streaming small equipment and standing pilates –
- One additional module from either pre and post natal – 2 days or exercise therapy – 2 days
- Assessment day – 1 day
WHO IS THE COURSE SUITABLE FOR?
- Qualified pilates teachers with a minimum of 12 months teaching experience
- Those wishing to pursue a career in teaching Pilates both to individuals and in group sessions at an advanced level
- Pilates teachers who have an enquiring mind who want to seek that higher level of knowledge to be able to analyse and communicate exercises at a high level
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE NEEDED?
- Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Mat Pilates or equivalent

- Case study and progressive programmes
- Personal pilates practice
- Worksheets
- Direct observation of taught sessions
ARE THERE ANY BOOKS OR SPECIAL EQUIPMENT THAT NEED TO BE PURCHASED?
- No, all course materials will be provided
WHAT CAN THE QUALIFICATION LEAD TO?
- Achievement of the AIQ Level 4 Certificate in Instructung Pilates Matwork
- The ability to teach Pilates both group and one to one with a high level of knowledge and skills, and with an internationally recognized qualification
- The ability to teach Pilates as a specialist instructor at level 4
